Hi guys,
I bought this head-unit with the following goals in mind:
- I wanted to enjoy navigating and music offline as well as online and a machine that keeps the updates relevant. (independence from the smartphone but still as a nice addition.) CHECKED.
- I wanted to be able to swich between navigating and music without getting a lot of distraction; eyes on the road.
I discovered that the integration between spotify and waze is perfect. I even don't need the split screen function and can enjoy the full screen in one app and seamlessly switch to the other. No android auto anymore with the phone attached. CHECKED
- I wanted a system that I can install easily myself without cutting wires so that I can replace it if necessary. CHECKED.
- I wanted to keep the impression that it is the factory unit and this system integrates perfectly in my car. Ecstatically awesome!. well done dasaita! CHECKED.
- I wanted an improvement of the music quality, but to be honest, the factory speakers sound worse with this system than with the oem unit.
I am replacing the factory speakers as we speak with an amp, so I have no doubt that this will also be a huge upgrade too.
WORK IN PROGRESS
One issue I encountered after the first install was that the contact of the front left speaker was unreliable. On the road the signal drops sometimes and after moving the screen a little back and forth it comes back.
I solved this by checking the connections again and I made a small bracket to use the other 2 mountingscrews. Now it is firmly attached to the chassis (Also better theft-protection) and the issue is gone.
From what I read, there were a lot of people who did the same thing.
And even though the 2 mountingscrews on this HU are a big improvement from the previous versions, it still isn't enough.
SOLVED, but room for improvement from the dasaita side.
Another issue that is annoying;
when I do a full reboot, the home screen cards are getting messed up. the system adds an extra Bluetooth and a video card. Now I have 5 video and 5 bluetooth cards in the card overview.
It's not a mayor issue for me, cause I don't need a reboot that often (hopefully). But please look into this Dasaita.
Some things worth mentioning;
TPMS, the energy monitoring and the steeringwheel controls are working out of the box fine.
I don't need voice control and the phone function on the road. People can call me after driving or I call back.
With 2 extra adapter cables I can use the car antenna for the GPS and the DAB.
GPS works perfectly in this setup, so no need for extra antenna-stuff on my dashboard.
I haven't tested the DAB-signal yet, but I am not a radio-listener anyway.
I am not a fan of google's privacy violations. So I try to avoid google as much as possible.
I hope for a de-googled ROM someday, but I guess that is wishful thinking.
So, overall it is a huge upgrade from the existing system and I like how easy the install was. The screen is awesome and very clear.
Very happy with this purchase so far.
Best regards,
Marien
