PX6 external mic - how to disable internal mic

  • Hi @Support Dasaita

My external mic does not work. I tried it on other devices (Mac, mobile) and it is not detected and visibly broken. I can send screenshot if needed.

I am using a PX6 A11 HU. Can you tell me which external mic I can buy to replace broken one? I want to make sure to buy a compatible one. I found HUAT01 and HUAT02 on dasaita but not sure if compatible for my head unit (car Toyota 2012 Camry).

Also, once I get a new functional one, can you let me know how to disable the internal mic? I read on several posts that plugging the external one is not sufficient and I need to disable internal mic somewhere in the factory settings or android setting so external one works.

    please confirm!

  • @Philippe Marsteau Sorry that the internal Mic could not be disabled unless you remove it. Please kindly take a photo of the your order number and your current MIC so that we could check and give you recommendation.

  • Sure

    see pics below

  • @Philippe Marsteau We would like to tell  you that your Microphone is HUAT02.

Here is a listing from our webside, you could also purchase microphone with 3.5mm plug.

  • @Philippe Marsteau If you have placed the order, remember to send us an email and we will check the microphone for you.

  • @Support Dasaita will any 3.5mm plug work? Eg is it TS, TRS, or TRRS input jack needed? I don't see much details of HUAT02 except it is 3m long. Assuming I buy this one, is there a way to disable internal mic once external is plugged?

  • @Philippe Marsteau Yes, according to your photo, it's a 2m microphone with 3.5mm jack, if you have one, you have a try.

  • @Support Dasaita how about ability to disable internal one if I plug the external one?

  • @Philippe Marsteau Sorrry, it will not disable the internal one, it will use both the internal and external if you connect the external. If you want to disable the internal, you may need to remove it and it will be risky. Your understanding will be appreciated. BTW, have you tried another external one?

  • @Support Dasaita i have installed external one, and it seems to be working. Problem is, when both are used, the internal one capture a lot of motor sound around due to location of microphone. I will see if I can cover the mic input of internal one to see if it helps.

Another question, is there a way on dasaita px6 to initiate a call from the steering wheel buttons? The call button only displays the Bluetooth dialog I have not found a way to actually initiate a call using voice. Even with CarPlay on, I only found a way to trigger Siri by pressing on the screen, not from steering wheel. I need ability to initiate calls while keeping my hands on steering wheel to use the microphone.

    Any cue appreciated!

  • @Philippe Marsteau You can press the steering wheel voice command button and follow the verbal prompts initiate a call or you can press the off-hook button on the steering wheel to bring up the phone page where you can dial by number with a keypad. If you mean that the steering button could not work, we are wondering if you could follow the steps to reset them.

    Steering wheel setting:

    1) Please go to Settings > Car > Factory settings > Others > Steering wheel keys assign > SWC Key > Apply > Exit (Reboot).

    2) Please go to Settings > Car > Steering Wheel Keys and start to program or go to Home Menu > Wheelkey Study app and start to program.

  • Didn't work for me. When I set to SWC key I cannot program the keys. If I change back to Can Key, then I can program the keys. For mic icon, it is confitured to use Google Assistant: it mute music and listen to what I say; if I say "call [number]" it says, ok calling. But nothing happens. If I say "open Bluetooth", it does open app. So it seems only call does not work.

i am on a android 11 (px6) which does not allow me to insert SIM card. Hence I would expect a way to initiate call OVER BLUETOOTH, but it seems it tried to actually call, but cannot since no SIM card exists. I do have a SIM LTE card today but used a USB key to use it. I would rather insert SIM to device but not sure if possible.

is there any way? Or anyway to configure to call over Bluetooth?

  • .

  • @Philippe Marsteau We are wondering if that features work in your OEM stereo?

  • @Support Dasaita yes it worked flawlessly. Not sure what you mean: the button press is recognized, issue is software wise: the button triggers google assistant and asking to call a number is even confirmed, but then it does not dial (over Bluetooth).

  • @Support Dasaita any update?
