2013-2017 Accord EX-L Issues

  • @Erik Anderson Our engineer said that the canbus support the right turn button on and off, you could go to Factory Settings > enter logcan and check if the button could work and there is code on the screen while you presse the button.

If no luck, we may need your help to check if the pins contact with your head unit is correct and tight.

    Your cooperation will be appreciated.

  • @Support Dasaita the "right turn button" is working fine (it's what I've been calling the "lane watch button").

If I press it when the turn signal isn't on, the lane watch camera turns on as expected. If I press it again, the lane watch camera turns off as expected.

If the turn signal is on, the lane watch camera also turns on as expected.

The issue/problem is that if I press the "right turn button" while the turn signal is also on, the unit responds by briefly (the screen is black for half a second or so) turning off the camera and then it immediately turns the lane watch camera back on.

In other words, there is no way to view the normal UI while the right turn signal is on.

I was hoping my pseudo-code demonstrated how it works now vs. how I'd like it to work. How I'd like it to work is how the OEM system works.

  • @Erik Anderson In this case, we suggest you to update the MCU version to the latest 4.13a.

    MCU(4.13a):https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3eo7wplzcyw077zcsqaht/hmcu.img?rlkey=xj47j3cxpzjsi3grmqf65ouen&dl=0

Download the file and go to Settings > System > MCU update.

  • @Support Dasaita thanks! I just tried this updated MCU. After installing it, "About machine" shows the version is MTCH_HA4Z_V4.13a_1 dated Jun 7 2024 09:46:17.

The behavior is still largely the same, though I believe the brief flash of the normal UX is new (I believe it only showed black for a moment with the previous MCU).

I took a video to demonstrate the problem:

  • @Erik Anderson Thank you for your further demonstration, we will reflected to the manufacturer to see the issue, as they are have Dragon Boat Festival Holiday now, we will reply you next week, your patience and understanding will be appreciated.

  • @Erik Anderson, I have a 2015 EX-L. I clipped the wires in the middle so that I would have room to couple them in the future if needed.

@Support Dasaita, Clipping the wires resolved the problem with the delay on the volume.

I have been out of town and will be out of town this week as well. I will try to use the multimeter today. I won't be able to troubleshoot anything until next week after today.

  • @Support Dasaita,

For the HFL buttons, I tried doing a resistance test and none of them responded to the buttons. The one that the pin connects to has a constant 2-8v reading.

  • @Support Dasaita, I also discovered that my Subwoofer is not working. I tested the output of the sub RCA and there was nothing coming from it. Is there a way (other than the amp screen) to turn the sub woofer on?

@Erik Anderson -- Do you have this problem as well?

  • I also hooked up a separate sound source to the sub woofer RCA and sound came out of the subwoofer speaker

  • @Jonathan Blackwell We are wondering if it is 8V. Besides, we are wondering if you could send us a video to show the wirings on the subwoofer, we would like to check if it's correct or not.

    Your cooperation will be appreciated.

  • @Jonathan Blackwell We are wondering if your version has been updated to the latest 20240606 version, if you haven't, please go to Amplifier to adjust the bass.

  • @Dasaita Official:

Re: the sub. I can't audibly hear anything coming out of the sub either.

I tried playing with Amplifier settings to crank up the bass; it doesn't seem to do anything.

I then tried connecting one of the regular speaker (FR) outputs to the sub and could hear it then.

    Here's a picture of how it's connected:

    sub connection

Re: the steering wheel phone buttons. I didn't get a chance to check the HFL harness for resistance; my multimeter probes are too thick to insert into the harness. I ordered some needle probe extenders to check it at a later date.

Re: the right turn signal overriding the lane watch camera button unconditionally. I noticed that if I have the left turn signal on (the one that doesn't normally trigger lane watch), I get the opposite problem-- I can't turn on the lane watch camera manually (the screen flashes and then goes back to the regular non-lane watch view). Ideally the software fix would address both (ignore the left turn signal state entirely, for the right turn signal only honor it on state transitions).

Re: other issues I've not reported. I've found the "instant fuel" measurement is always stuck with the bar fully filled (80MPG). The "Current" and "History" ones report something sensible.

The iMID screenshows my preferred unit (MPG) but the "Vehicle" app on the main screen shows the same numbers but labels the units incorrectly in liters (L) and kilometer (KM). The wrong units is just a minor annoyance given I wouldn't normally open that app (I'd just use the iMID screen).

  • @Dasaita Official also, can you comment re: if the 20240606 update is supposed to address anything described in this thread? If so, I can try updating to it.

  • @Support Dasaita,

I have updated to the 20240606 version and nothing was resolved.

  • @Support Dasaita,

The picture shows 8v on the meter.

I'm traveling at the moment but I will try to you video of the wiring. I think @Erik Anderson is having the same problem, maybe he can get the wiring sooner.

  • @Erik Anderson

Could you please follow these steps to help us diagnose the issue with your steering wheel buttons:

    1. Go to Settings > Car > Factory Settings and enter "logcan".
    2. Press the steering wheel buttons that are not working properly about three times. You should see codes appear on the screen.
    3. After completing this process, go to Filebrowser and copy the log file for us.
    4. Please record a video showing the entire process and send it to us along with the log file. We will forward these to the manufacturer for further diagnosis. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Regarding the subwoofer issue, we recommend updating the firmware to the latest version 20240606 to see if it resolves the problem. If it does not, please send us the settings on the amplifier after the update.

For the instant fuel parameter, we could not find any parameter like it. Could you please confirm if you mean the following one?

As for the iMID screen issue, we regret to inform you that the format of each parameter cannot be modified. Your understanding on this matter is appreciated.

  • @Dasaita Official

Re: the sub. I ended up playing a 40Hz test tone which helped me observe that, yes, the sub comes on if the sub setting in the Amplifier app is set to "On". So, working for me though I'll have to play with the levels.

Re: the "instant fuel" issue. The iMID screen labels it differently than the "Vehicle" app; it's labeled "Instant fuel". My photo was a little blurry but hopefully you can see what I mean. Yes, it's positioned the same as the "Current F..." that is labeled "stuck?" in your screenshot.

Note that my question about units is not about the iMID screen. The units (miles/gallons) are what I want. It's in the Vehicle app on the main unit screen which has them labeled wrong.

Re: the steering wheel calling buttons. I had previously tried that and didn't see any output at all when pressing them. I still need to take a meter to the pins of the harness to see if I can observe a change on them when pressing the buttons which I'll do when I get a chance.

  • @Erik Anderson We have reflect the issue to the Canbus company and once getting their reply, we will let you know. As to the HFL issue, we are wondering if you have the pinout of your car's plugs, if yes, we will check and revise the cable for you. We just afraid if the cable is not compatible with your car. You could use Siri or Google assistant for HFL during this period.

  • @Dasaita Official I got a chance to test the harness with a multimeter.

The correct pin is on the opposite side of the connector. I verified that pin is:

    • 10kΩ when none of the buttons are pressed
    • ~220Ω when the call pick up button is pressed
    • ~50Ω when the call hang up button is pressed
    • ~2.2kΩ when the hands free link/voice assistant button is pressed

Here's a picture showing the 10kΩ value when nothing is pressed:

And here's a view of that with the connector the Dasaita came with (when mated the pin is going into the opposite side of the harness):

What's the best way for me to try to move the pin?

  • @Erik Anderson Hi, here is an video that you could refer to remove the pin and put in the right place.

As to the units of  (miles/gallons), we are wondering if you could take a photo of the TFT box or you could check if it is the same as the following one.
