HA2220H2 CarPlay problem - Android G12 for 14-21 Tundra

  • I just got the head unit installed a couple days ago and updated to the latest software version: QCM6125_20240530-0937

Zlink / CarPlay has stopped connecting unless I restart the head unit using a 15 second press of the RST button.

I haven't found any remedy other than rebooting the head unit every time I get in the truck.

I tried doing a factory reset as I was hoping it would roll it back to the factory installed version, but it did not. That option doesn't seem to have done anything other than erase all my setting, which was expected, and the iGo Navigation app from the unit, which was not expected.

the Bluetooth connects to the head unit, and I can use Bluetooth music, but Zlink is failing to see the phone is connected and initiate the CarPlay link? As I said, rebooting the unit will cause the connection to initiate and open CarPlay just fine.

Also, it would be nice if there was an option in the auto-off settings just to shut the unit down everytime instead of going to sleep. And a button in the swipe-down menu for restarting the unit instead of having to long press the physical RST button with a pen tip would be really nice. Not being able to easily restart the unit is rather frustrating.

  • Nevermind, after spending 14 hours on a road trip with it, I pulled it out and will return it to Amazon.

The head unit cost too much to not have something as essential as CarPlay not functioning and/or not functioning properly.

  • @Ben Snow Hi customer, we sent a post in the forum and apologize for the mistake of sending the wrong firmware via OTA. Would you mind downgrading the firmware to the previous one: 20240513.
