Model Deciphering

  • I have bought a second hand car with your brand head unit in it.

    Based on the "About Machine" section, its a PX6 (1024x600) Android 10. I have no idea what model this is. Vivid10, Max10 etc. and I would love to know.

    Build# rk3399-userdebug 10 QQ2A.200305.004.A1 eng.hct.20200609.160238 test-keys.

    Kernel: 4.19.111+

    MCU: MTCE_HA_V3.56_1 - Jun 17 2020

    It has software builds from 2020 and is fairly unstable at the moment. Google/Chrome keep crashing, steering wheel buttons working intermittenly and now people can't hear me properly through the hands free microphone.

    1. What update should I do to the machine? Can it/Should it be moved to Android 11/12?

    2. Can it run Apple Carplay?

  • @Brad Robinson

    Hello.
    1、
    Based on your information, we initially judge the model is MAX10.
    For your information, it doesn't support updating to another later system(Android11/12) from Android10.
    Regarding the your issues, we suggest that you can try to update the latest firmware.
    About the tutorial, please check it below.
    2、
    Generally, Android10 can support CarPlay function except some special models.
    Here enclosed the Wireless CarPlay connection method for your reference:
    Step1. Unit: Open CarPlay App.
    Step2. iPhone: Search Bluetooth "CARKIT";
    and entry default PIN "0000" to pair it;
    then tap "Use CarPlay" on the pop-up "Use CarPlay with the Zlink".
    Step3. Wait for the connection.

  • Hi Dasaita,

    Thank you for that. I've performed the unit update, it went smoothly and the unit seems okay for now.

    Unfortunately the carplay app (ZLink) will not work because of a "MFI Error: The MFI chip is not detected and the CarPlay feature won't work"

    What can I do to get this to work?

  • @Brad Robinson

    Hello.
    We have attached the Zlink installation package, please try to install it.
    If it doesn't work, then it most likely the model that you got cannot support CarPlay function.
