10th Gen Honda Civic Door Auto-Lock

  • Hello!

I just got the G12 for Civics installed a few days ago, 10th Gen 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring with factory amp. I do have the CB100 harness to bypass the factory amp installed.

I love the features and upgrades, but have run into a few hiccups.

1 - How do I re-enable the factory feature of the doors automatically locking when I get out of and walk away from the car? It senses the remote is close to the car and waits to lock, then locks after it's 15ft away or something close to that.

2 - Is there an option to have it automatically switch between Bluetooth audio and system audio? That would be a great upgrade, borderline being a big right now. For example, playing Spotify from the headunit app, but then playing a video from the phone that's connected through Bluetooth. The current behavior is to just keep playing the headunit app audio and the video plays on the phone, but without sound. We have to switch to the Bluetooth audio app to play through the car speakers. Switching to Bluetooth audio while a video or other audio is playing would make sense.

Thank you for any help or suggestions. Love the unit, but just these couple things kind of "bugging" me right now.

    Evan

  • @Evan Throckmorton for the 1st question, you should have available an app called car information (or something like that) that provides you original car stock configuration options that you can modify m Check if there is the option you want.

    2. It is difficult as if you mix both system and bt audio you will get the phone notification sounds as well while driving.

    Hello.
    1、
For your information, please make sure the CanBus option is NO.21 firstly:
    Settings > Car > Factory settings (password :126) > CanBus > Canbus > 21 > Apply > Exit > Reboot.
Then please try to go App "Control settings" to do the related settings(see pic).

    2、
Currently, it doesn't support to automatically switch between Bluetooth audio and system audio.
We will reflect your suggestion to our technical department.
Any updates we release in the future, we will let you know.

Thank you for the response! I'm adding the pics of my settings.

Unfortunately, those control settings are for the car beeping when I manually lock the car. What I'm looking for is bringing back the functionality of the car locking itself. Once I turn off the car, step out, and close the door, it should beep once to say the car is off and the key is out of the vehicle. Once I walk 10-15ft away, it should beep again to say it has automatically locked itself. I verified the "lock answer back" setting is changing and working since it would stop beeping when I manually locked the car from outside.

As for the Bluetooth audio, that would be great to forward it to the engineers! Today, I did notice that if I'm playing Bluetooth audio from my phone to my car and I use the head unit to play audio, it will interrupt the Bluetooth audio. However, it doesn't resume Bluetooth audio when the headunit audio stops. Like I was watching a YouTube video on my phone and scrolling a website on the headunit. A video ad came up on the headunit and started playing, so it paused my phone's video and started playing the headunit website audio. Once I kept scrolling past the ad, the audio just stops. Pressing play on my phone does start the phone video again, but the audio will not start unless I go to the headunit Bluetooth audio app. That's not ideal and we can get it to function a little more smoothly! Preferably, the audio will take over for whatever device tries to play audio and will go back to the other device once it's started again. It already works to pause the phone and switch to the headunit, so it seems like it should be able to take back over once its un-paused.

    Thanks!

  • @Support Dasaita would a different key mode or type or anything else on the canbus screen fix it? What do those settings change?

  • @Evan Throckmorton

    Hello.
About the factory feature of the doors automatically locking,  it may not be supported after installing the aftermarket headunit.
Currently, we are confirming with our technical department.
Any news, we will tell you further.
Thanks for your patience in advance.

  • @Evan Throckmorton

    Hello.
Please try to select Type is NO.1:
    Settings > Car > Factory settings(password :126) > CanBus > Type > "1 16 Civic" > Apply > Exit > Reboot.

  • @Support Dasaita thanks for the suggestions and sorry for the delay. It ended up being that I needed to have "leaving the lock personalized settings" switched ON. Now the car does beep when I exit and automatically lock the doors when I walk away.

Now my only thing is wishing it could auto-switch that Bluetooth to system audio and back, depending on what was currently playing and what was interrupting 😉 then it would be PERFECT. I may be able to download something to add that, but if it becomes a feature in an update, much better!

    Thanks again
