Please tell us about you are using internal or external microphone.
If it's the formerhere are some trouble-shootings for you:
Step1.
Please first check whether Wifi Ant is properly connected.
Step2.
Please try to adjust the volume properly during the call, both on the head unit and your phone.
Step3.
If not luck, please add the external microphone to see how it works.
Step4.
Please also try another brand aftermarket external microphone, if possible.
Step5.
Make sure the unit is within signal range when making a call.
Weak signals can cause problems with sound transmission.
I have been connecting the built-in external microphone of this product, but I am not sure if it defaults to using an external microphone? Because I saw a small hole in front of the machine, also labeled as a microphone. Is this the communication port for the internal microphone? If I want to use a third-party microphone, which one is better to replace?Are there any brands and features that can be recommended?

For your information, without connecting external microphone, the unit will use internal microphone automatically.
But if you connected external mic, then the unit will use external mic by default.
Please try to remove the external mic then test how it goes for internal mic.
If possible, please also use other brand of external mic to test.
