scratching my head getting Android Auto to work

  • Hi,

In 2020 I purchased a Dasaita PX6 for my Renault Clio4 (2014). When it was installed, I tried to use Android Auto with it but I failed and after some time trying, I gave up and decided to use Android natively, like installing apps using hotspot to connect to the internet for internet radio and such. But now I want to give it another try.

I cannot link to the specific product, because the product has been taken offline by SkyShadow (the seller). I can provide the following info though:

    • Android 9
    • Buildnumber: 202005251541
    • Kernel: 4.4.167
    • MCU version: CSN2_D_05262020_113507
    • CPU & Memory size:
      64-Bit Cortex-A72x2 1.8GHz Cortex-A53x4 1.4GHz
      4GB TC:52C F0:1416M F1:1800M

So I decided to factory reset my head unit to try it again, but I still cannot find a way of getting it to work. I did find an app called CarbitLink EasyConnect, but from what I have been able to manage, it only allows screen mirroring, but not Android Auto, but the productpage in AliExpress did clearly say it supports Android Auto. I wouldn't have bought it, if it didn't. Does anyone know how I can get it to work with Android Auto? Or am I screwed and I need to buy a new device?

Appreciate all the help I can get!

    Hello.
For your information, some Android9 items cannot support Zlink(CarPlay/Android Auto) function.
For further verification, please go Settings > Car > Factory settings (password :126) > App > CarPlay > Zlink > Apply > Exit > Reboot,
and check if you can use Zlink App.
If not, then your unit is not equipped with this function.
