Qashqai G13, Engine off and continued play

  • Hi Dasaita team,

Congratulations on such an epic product.. Wish I had this installed years ago. Qashqai 2017 with a G13 head unit.

On the previous factory head unit, I used to be able to listen to the radio or bluetooth while the engine was off, it would prompt me after 20 minutes to turn off or wait till I open the driver door. With the new head unit, as soon as I turn the engine off, the dasaita unit will "power off". I know there is a setting to keep it in standby mode with auto, 30 seconds, 5 minutes etc. however I'm looking to keep the headunit on while the engine is off. Is there a setting for this?

Previous behavior: Engine off -> Audio would keep playing for ~15-20 minutes or until I open the drive door
Current behavior: Engine off -> straight into power off mode.
Desired behavior: Engine off -> Continue playing music for 20 mins or until I open the door.

    Thanks

  • @Stephen Maher Hi Stephen,

You may turn to ACC mode, not start car,the unit can be power on.If the engine is turned off, the unit will shut down directly.(Using the ACC gear for a long time will consume battery power and may cause the vehicle to be unable to start, so it is not recommended to stay in this gear for a long time.)

    BTW we have a setting:

When you set it to one hour, if you return to the car within one hour after turning off the engine, you can start the machine faster without waiting, usually the unit will light up in 1-3 seconds.

  • Thank you Support... I understand the ACC mode however that mode also engages other electronics such as dashboard, AirCon, windows etc..

Could I ask for a feature to be added for a setting that will allow the unit to be kept on for a variable controlled period of time, AFTER the engine has been turned off.

While I understand battery drain, the risk should be minimal and giving the user the option. Additionally the OEM head unit had this feature by default. When the engine was stopped it would continue to play music, however, it would turn off the radio when the drivers door is opened. Thanks :-)

  • @Stephen Maher Currently our unit can't do like this, but some of the customer can DIY like this,However, it depends on your car model and we are sorry that we cannot provide support in this regard.

  • @Support Dasaita Thank you for the clarity. I would argue that it is something you can support, as this is a software based trigger. The unit is still getting power, hence the standby option to make it faster to start up next time the car is started.

You should be able to add a setting to delay the standby or poweroff by 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes etc?  OR... prompt the user to turn off the unit with a 30 second countdown with cancel or shutdown now button ? This should be a very simple/easy feature to implement which is independant of any model of car.... Thanks

  • @Stephen Maher

We assume that the shut down delay settings could already meet your expectation, if you just want the head unit standyby or poweroff by 30 seconds, 1 minute, our engineer does not support more time as it will drain the battery. Your understanding will be appreciated.
