Enter PIN screen lock in security settings, remove PIN request from SIM card and MCU updates for G13 units

    I wanted to know if it is possible to somehow enable (or have you implement) the functions I have specified in the subject.

    I recently installed a G13 unit in a Toyota Auris and connected a SIM card. As I am not going to use Android Auto or Carplay, the internet connection is provided by the SIM card.

    On one hand, I am interested in enabling a lock screen. Enabling this in security makes, for example, that you can put PIN to some apps like Whatsapp, among others, to lock them, since if there is no screen lock system enabled, the option to set a PIN to WhatsApp is not shown in your settings. Also, are you planning to release any fingerprint reader for unlocking with biometrics via USB?

    On the other hand, and this is perhaps more important, I can't find any option to disable the PIN request for the SIM card. The latter is very important, because if the vehicle is stolen, until you enter the PIN when it is enabled, there is no internet connection, which makes you unable to use Google's "Find my device" functionality.

    I would like to know, by the way, where I can download the MCU updates for my unit, as I can't find them around the forum.

    G13 version doesn't support to set the lock screen .

    Regarding to the SIM card of PIN, the unit can't support to enter and remove the pin directly .Please try to set it on your phone firstly .

    The option you have suggested to me removes the PIN request, but only on the device where that option is configured , that is, that same SIM card when put in another device, if that device does not have the option to remove the PIN request, it will continue to have SIM Lock activated.

    I want to make a recommendation to the development team to include this option in future updates or, if the option is hidden, to show it in the settings. Please keep this request in mind.

  • Could you simply add the "Valet lock" function of Vivid 13 in G13. Please communicate this to the appropriate department so that they can implement it in a future update. It's not a whim, as Gennaro says, it's a serious lack of security and privacy issue. When you have the device running on a SIM, it's a no brainer that the mechanic, car cleaning worker, etc, can access your conversations. It is an issue that should take priority.
