Reverse Camera and Steering Wheel Keys worked only a short time

  • Hello, I have just installed the Vivid 13 I ordered a few days ago in my 2017 Toyota Tundra. When I first installed it the steering wheel keys and the backup camera or both working. Neither of those are working now. I connected the old OEM unit back up and the steering wheel keys and the backup camera are both working.

    What could be going wrong?

  • Hello, something similar happened to me. I kept contacting support and finally the problem was that the CanBus connector and reverse video cable seemed to be a bit loose. Because of the weight of the CanBus connector, the wires tend to come loose a bit, even the connector that goes to the unit. What I did is tighten everything up. I put duct tape on the rear camera RCA cable and cable ties to hold the CanBus wires tight. Attached are pictures.
Try to also tighten the black connector that goes to the unit.
So far everything works fine, let's hope it stays that way.

  • It was my canbus block coming loose.  I will do the zip tie fix also.  Thanks.

  • Hi, my backup camera and steering wheel button works fines on the begining but after while stops and I don't know why. I checked already all connections and everything looks fine. What could be a problem?

  • @Matt Palos I recommend that you do what I have done in the photographs. Put cable ties securing the connections to the CanBus and put another one so that it does not hang so much, since with the weight of the module, the connector tends to come loose a little, not making the contacts well and preventing the correct operation of the unit. Even with the appearance that all the connectors are well connected, sometimes it seems that with the vibration of the vehicle when driving, these connectors tend to come loose.

  • @Matt Palos

    Hi Matt,

Please try to unplug the CanBus and reconnected it,

And then go to the setting :

Settings > car > factory setting (Password: 126)  > CANBUS > choose the CANBUS option is 8 > restart > apply > exit  Please Make sure the CANBUS option is 8.

If it is 8,  choose "NO" to apply, after the reboot, re-choose the option 8 and reboot.
