11.6" G13 for Toyota Tacoma 2016-2022 - Audio Static Issue (at any volume, any app)

  Hi,

  I purchased a G13 11.6" this week from Amazon. I installed the radio but now have static at any volume. I tried YouTube, Netflix, CarPlay, Bluetooth, the radio, and I hear the static at low volumes and high volumes. I updated the firmware, and this did NOT fix the issue.

  Is there a fix? Do I need to return the unit and buy another? If I buy another 11.6" G13 will I have the same issue?

  

   

  Background:

  Vehicle: 2017 Tacoma with OEM JBL sound system. No additional accessories.

  Previous Radio: Dasaita G12 10.2" (purchased 4/2024) NO AUDIO ISSUES

  I have the exact same truck and unit.. apparently with the JBL amp you have to have a bypass harness.

  I have it on order so I can't confirm it works yet
