Since this G13 is not certified some apps in the Google Play Store will not install. I already tried the procedure in this video How to Manually Add a Device to Google Play Protect Certification but so far that did not work. Is there any company response on how to do this or why its not certified?
@PAUL WELSHEIMER We have ceased publishing OTA firmware updates because the previous OTA releases led to many customers frequently installing updates that were prone to causing issues. Therefore, we no longer provide OTA firmware updates. If you encounter any problems, you can contact customer service at any time. Our customer service will determine whether a firmware update is necessary and then proceed with the update. Regarding the apps you mentioned cannot be installed, could you please specify which apps? We will confirm with our engineers.
@Support Dasaita The app that I found the not certified error is Scanner Radio by Gordon Edwards. I have contacted the developer (Gordon Edwards) and their reply was:
"The problem may be that the device doesn't pass the Play Store's "Play Protect" certification check, a requirement for the app to be installable.
You can check the device's integrity check status by following these steps:
Launch the "Play Store" app
- Tap on your profile picture icon (displayed in the top-right corner of the screen)
- Select "Settings"
- Select "About"
- See the text that is displayed below "Play Protect certification"

@PAUL WELSHEIMER Could you please download the app on your phone and then connected to the CarPlay to car radio to see if the Scanner Radio app work on Carplay page?
@Support Dasaita Yes the scanner radio app works fine through car play. And I do understand that I could just use it this way but I do not always want to have my phone be the "internet" for the stereo.
@Support Dasaita I am having additional problems - I tried downloading the Sirius XM app and I signed into it and it quits. This should not be this dificult to get apps to install and/or work
@PAUL WELSHEIMER Do you mean you can't run the Sirius XM app on the unit?
@Support Dasaita that's correct. After downloading it and opening it, it looks like it will launch and then dumps me back out to the screen where the app sits.
