from 576 reviewsMy score would be 4.5 so I rounded up. I have been using unit for over 3 months now.
First my OEM unit was basically a radio and music player with a clock. GPS was worthless because it was not based on live traffic like Waze or Google Maps. There were other aftermarket units for less money but was concerned about memory, load speeds and cable harness compatibility without manually having to wire some connections. Name brands were two or three times more expensive and looked like they needed professional installation to complete non-harness wiring. I watched 4 or 5 installation videos before I purchased and felt confident I could install. Installation went smoothly except for some reason I had a problem running USB wires thru dash. Videos also pointed out you will have extra OEM wires that do not need to be connected (Super helpful). Biggest surprise was that I could not run Android Auto and have an internet connection for other apps/browsing. You could add a sim card but would have to pay a monthly fee to hookup. Customer support said I could plug phone into USB input but that was sporadic and not automatic. I tried to tether phone and it worked but I had to manually turn on every time and Android Auto could not be used at same time. The addition of an internet connection outside of Android auto basically made the unit seem like a laptop with the ability to use other apps and programs. Nice but what I really wanted was an Android Auto hookup so it wasn't a big deal.
Pros:
1. Android Auto, as well as, other apps thru Internet connection.
2. Plenty of flash memory for music, photos and video.
3. Large display screen with excellent detail. There are two sample music videos and they are stunning to watch on the screen. My wife watches Youtube videos while I'm driving.
4. Flash memory to store music, photos and video. My OEM unit I had to use phone, CD or a USB flash drive to play music. I could still use USB port like the OEM but flash memory in unit is the way to go.
5. Easy Installation. Influencer installation videos are great and a must.
6. Improved Audio. When I was messing around trying to get a separate internet connection the audio level would sometimes be lower. When I went with Android Auto and set up my equalizer the sound quality was improved. Apparently the OEM unit limited the volume but this unit can be cranked and gave my bass a huge lift with great quality sound.
7. Quallcom Chip. I assume it is better quality than other units but I just may have been suckered.
Cons:
1. Clock size on screen is small. Didn't make sense for me to have to look at my wristwatch while driving. Customer support said I could increase the size of the font but 1/4 inch font is too small. Need a window in corner with one inch font.
2. Sometimes it takes 30 seconds for unit to load Android auto so I have to wait before I can use Waze or Google maps.
3. Unit looks like it is geared to a global audience more than the US. For instance the inclinometer is neat app for offroad driving but the altitude is in meters not feet. Customer support says that it cannot be changed but it's a good suggestion for future versions.
4. Seems like too many bells and whistles. I have 4 different GPS apps that can be used. Waze, Google Maps, Dasaita GPS mapping and I added OnX Maps. There are 20 or so Apps preloaded and I'm not sure or care what they do. You might but I don't care.
5. Sim card needed to get Android Auto and a separate internet connection. When using phone tethering I had to turn the phone tether on when is started driving. Customer support says USB hard wire can add internet but I could not get to work consistently and plugging in unit every time I drive is not convenient.
6. Price was better on Dasaita website but they only take PayPal there. ordered on Amazon to use credit card.
At first the cons especially the internet connection difficulties really bothered me but once I realized I really only wanted Android Auto I am more than happy with it.
After 3 months I have settled in to using features I like but compared to the OEM unit this unit is amazing.
I love my 2018 4Runner but the OEM headend radio is from the early 2000's and was a joke. I have been looking for a headend unit that looked OEM and acted OEM. Well I am here to tell you the Dasaita G13 is all that and more. My 4Runner is better than a new model. I have added the TPMS as well. The unit does so much it's unreal and works seamlessly with Apple car play. I install it on Christmas and had some technical questions and they were awesome, they were there to help on Christmas day. The technical support was spot on and the install was simple.
The headend unit is better than OEM and the support was over the top. Another great product from China!! Thank you Dasaita!!!!
Ordered/shipped/received within a very reasonable and expected timeframe (4-5 days if I recall). Well packaged and semi-easy to install. All the connectors/etc. were 1:1 matches. I was a tad confused because there were 3-4 wires originating in the car that didn't have a home in the Dasaita head unit. This doesn't seem to matter but it would be super nice to know what those are. Physical installation of the Dasaita took some finesse by seating both the head unit and upper trim bezel at the same time. It's a very factory look and performs well.
If I had any recommendations for Dasaita they would be to have another look at the instructions for clarity and thoroughness. I'd say they're about 90%. That last 10% tripped me up a little, but your support was very responsive through the forums. Installation into a Rav4 with JBL, though the installation instructions don't appear to be for the JBL. The Rav also has 360 degree cameras. Though it works, there is no mention of them in the instructions. I have no idea why they work because I have no idea what cable services the 4 cameras whos images are stitched together to get the picture!
All in all, happy with the purchase. I'd rate at 4.5, the installation instructions could be better, but it's probably hard to cover everything.
Love having Android Auto! Still working out some kinks with the back camera not connecting. Likely a power issue I haven't tracked down yet. Video cable def connected properly.
This is a huge game changer for my 2013 4runner; it's so much nicer to have Apple CarPlay. It's definitely worth getting this, especially for a 4runner that does not have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. I love how it looks, and it's a snug fit with no gaps. It has a built-in amp for my JBL speakers that I put in; it has a setting to tune your speakers to make them sound much better and cleaner. The screen is very responsive, not laggy or delayed in any way. One more thing dasaita customer service is very nice even though we have a huge time difference, just want to thank them for helping me out so much.
Really impressed with this product! Sleek and easy to install. Highly recommend for any Tacoma owner!
Recomendable 100%
W0W! I’ve had this unit for over a month now and I can only say good things about it! The Audio is way better! The screen is bigger! Also it allows me to watch movies on the go! Definitely recommend!

Hi,
Received the unit very quickly, considering I am in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Well packaged, nothing missing. YOUTUBE install videos very helpful so install was pretty straightforward ( only one of the videos mentioned the ground wire to be bolted to frame of truck via one of the 2 back bolts holding the unit, so thank you that gentleman ). I had never installed a vehicle radio before, so again thank you to all the YOUTUBERS who posted - the unit is truly plug and play. Today is second day after install so still learning the unit, but I am told from callers that BLUETOOTH is not smooth ( volume, clarity are not the best ). I am debating installing the OPTIONAL microphone, as that would entail taking out the unit again.
Thank you.
