@Support Dasaita Hello,
Yes, I see I no longer have control of the volume knob as well, the lights no longer light up. So will reconnect ribbon cable.
Where is the small internal microphone located? On the circuit board that controls the volume and lights?
@R. L. We would like to tell you that the internal microphone is as below, it's risky if you remove it in inproper way. Could you kindly wait a few days for our new firmware, we are testing now.
@Support Dasaita Hello, thank you for the updated information, appreciate it. Yes, I will wait for the firmware update. Will await for your reply when availalbe.
Thank you
RL
@R. L. Really appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
@R. L.@Support Dasaita I am waiting on the firmware update as well...or any way to be able to disconnect the internal mic on the Dasaita 12, that doesn't require cutting any wires on the unit. Thanks in advance!
@Victoria C Hi, Yes, for now I disconnected the ribbon cable to the circuit board for the left side. Not only does that disconnect the mic, it also disconnects volume control, mute control and background lights. Not a huge deal at this point as calls are now clear using the external mic only. Also to be noted, I replaced the supplied external mic with this mic: https://shop.enfigcarstereo.com/toyota-4runner-2010-2023-radio-installation-products/
Hope this helps

@R. L. We are wondering if you could spare time to help us in testing the firmware that our engineer release to improve the microphone.

We will appreciate your cooperation.
@Support Dasaita Hello Support, Yes I can test. What is the process for installing the supplied firmware? Also, what are the expectations of this firmware? What should I be able to do once this firmware is installed?
Thank you
RL
@R. L. Please ignore that firmware, we found a small bug that need to be fixed during the test. Sorry for the inconvenience.
@Support Dasaita Sure, will wait for latest.
Is this new firmware meant to fix the internal/external setting in factory settings?
@John Robinson It will improve the sound quality of microphone.
I also have the same issue with mine and am waiting for an update. I'm pretty sure the speaker located on the display is being used rather than the external one. I tested it out by covering the display mic and tapping around it while on a call.
@John Doe Your head unit is Android 11, do you mean that your microphone is not good enough either? You could try the latest MAX11(Newer than the one released on June, 8, 2023): https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/w0wrjc80ksuxy3fe08gjw/update.zip?rlkey=tyoc18w33q1py8o1ooo2gw7yr&dl=0
@Support Dasaita Hello Dasaita Support. Any progress on this update? Can you share when this will be availalbe please?
Thanks
RL
@R. L. Hi customer, we have a beta version G12(20240509): https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/dtbh94wqrdu0y81n9kzlr/update.zip?rlkey=rtwz5jv4g4474srr7oeb5n8mt&dl=0
Could you please kindly test it for us? Your cooperation will be appreciated.
@Support Dasaita Hello, can you share what has changed within settings?
is there the ability to disable the internal mic?
@R. L. Sorry that there is no way to disable the internal mic Settings now. Have you already updated the firmware to the latest 20240513? It has improved background noise a lot.
@Support Dasaita like others here i have the G12 and purchased the enfig mic to replace thr factory 4runner mic and the adaptor cable from Dasaita. The phone calls have awful background noise. Any suggestions?
