I have a head unit for a 2014 4runner. From some settings I saw in the past, it was installed sometime in 2020 or 2021 (Rockchip PX6). It had Max 10 set up when I got it. I updated it to Scout 10. I was having problems with the touch screen sensitivity, so I tried recalibrating in the factory settings. Not understanding what the mapping was for, I randomly started pushing the mapping buttons, thinking it was just checking my inputs, like when you calibrate your finger print on a cell phone. After saving the settings, most of my buttons don't respond at all, including the home button. The ones that do are so random I can't control the system. I figured out a way to get to the factory settings but I can't input the password. In the end I performed a factory reset using the recovery system. I chose the wipe data reset option. Now when it boots it wants me to confiure all the settings. The first screen I get is to choose a language. I am able to select my language but when I press the arrow button to go to the next screen, it doesn't respond. I've tried resetting 2 times with the same result. It seems the button mapping did not get reset. Now I have a bricked unit.
Is there a way to restore the unit from a flash drive?
Put your Dasaita system update on a pen, press the reset button on the screen and when the regedit appears, click update from USB and see if it updates.
@Juan Perez Before I did the factory reset I ran the Max10 to Scout update from the USB drive. After the update the system was exactly as it was before I updated it. I am wondering if there is a way to restore it to factory defaults using a flash drive. Do you know of a download for this?
@Neilw do you want to back to the Max 10?
Just installed and having the same issue. Locked on what ever screen comes up GPS, equalizer, or apple play with no buttons working. Or when you touch the screen the input jumps to other icons. Tried reset multiple times. Do I just return or is there a trick?
@Todd Dunlop
Hi Todd,
Could you please record a video of that issue & attached your order details and send it to our DASAITA SUPPORT TEAM EMAILL: team@dasaita.com
@Support Dasaita I did try downgrading to MAX 10 but it does not fix the controls. I have a msg from chat support to install a firmware update. Will try that and follow up.
