@Support Dasaita I see, so are you telling me that I have to physically disable the mic by opening the head unit?
Well, that is very interesting..... so software is not working as it is supposed to.....
Please let us have the instruction, I will see if I can do it..... but this seems little bit risky....
@H H Hi, we just found that your MCU version is old, would you try to update the MCU first.
4.11MCU: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/c1xr7zpqpham59rjv4k61/hmcu.img?rlkey=efj9n5chzyr7omhll4eqv7b4b&dl=0
@H H Please try to go to Settings > Factory Settings > enter 126 > and set the volume the same as the following photo.
@Support Dasaita I have not updated the MCU before, is it the same way to update as firmware or need to go to update in setting to perform?
@Support Dasaita Updated the MCU, followed your volume setting, the EXTERNAL MIC - external used.
After that, I am not sure what is the problem, the mic is no longer working in carplay, almost silent.
I was thinking if it is the problem with the external mic, but it turns out when I use bluetooth only (not zlink/carplay), both mics are working.
Finally, I have to switch the EXTERNAL MIC to internal, and the mic is working in zlink, the cracked sound have been improved little bit, but it is far from okay for normal use.
Please let me know about you thoughts.
Thank you.
@H H Thank you for your feedback, we have forwarded the issue to zlink company and they are improving the software to solve the problem now.
I'm having the same issue and thought it was the microphone. I bought the Dasaita Microphone Adapter 3.5MM For Android 12 Head Unit and a high-quality Sony microphone, and the call quality did not change. After seeing this, I also suspect that both microphones are working together, as stated. Any word on the fix?
@Ryan Ouellette Our engineers have diagnosed the issue and found that it is zlink's issue, they are studying now and will fix it asap.
You could try to update the BT module and zlink firstly.
BT(v5.0.9, enter "hctbtup" in factory settings page):

Zlink APK(v5.4.36 install via APKinstaller):

You could also go to System update to update the firmware to 20240322 version online.
@Ryan Ouellette What's more, we are wondering if your MCU is 4.11, if no, please update it to 4.11.

@Support Dasaita Hello, any further update from zlink? It's almost one month, thank you.
@H H We are still testing now, once there is new firmware, it will be released immediately. Thank you for your understanding.
@H H @Ryan Ouellette We need your assistance to verify if the improvement of the zlink could be accepted or not. (We have checked with a few iphone with different version and it's improved or not.)
Please update the zlink(v5.4.40):https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/jrya42umgerwzjo8atxtx/zlink5-hengchangtong-release-v5.4.40-34f63965f_jg.apk?rlkey=20lv6wzz6ci0qgchc7fvb7pb2&dl=0
Note that your BT version should be (v5.0.9) or newer. If no, download the BT module and go to Factory Settings > enter "hctbtup" to update it.

Hi, updated the carplay and bluetooth, but I am not able to test it with external mic, as I have mentioned one month ago, after the MCU update, my external mic is no longe working with Carplay, do you know why?
I have checked, the external mic is connected to the head unit......
@Support Dasaita I wil try to test it today.
@Ryan Ouellette Please test this newer zlink which released on April 29th. Your cooperation will be appreciated.

@Support Dasaita I updated zlink and I seems much better. I do have one more question. Now if turn the volume up on a phone call, when I switch back to the radio, the volume on the radio is really high. Here are the settings it is set at.
@Ryan Ouellette We would like to tell you that the BT music is not only control by the factory BT volume settings but by your phone, if you want to reduce the volume of the radio while you connected the BT. Here is the setting tips on your phone.
Go to General > Sounds & Haptics > Headphone Safety >Reduce Loud Audio
I will give that a try tomorrow. Thank you.
So now the volume on my mic is really low and people cannot hear me while on the phone in car play. Can you confirm the correct settings? The mic is set to external, and the setting that you suggested has been changed on my phone.
same here, once changed to external, it is like no external mic at all, so what is the solution?
