A Quick Guide of Firmware & MCU & OTA Updates

  • In the realm of automotive navigation, upgrades primarily fall into three categories: firmware updates, online OTA enhancements, and MCU upgrades.

    1. Firmware Updates: Focused on software refinement, these updates address glitches and optimize system performance, ensuring a smooth navigation experience.

    2. Online OTA Updates: Dedicated to the user interface, online updates bring visual improvements and introduce new features without requiring manual intervention.

    3. MCU Upgrades: Hardware-level advancements, such as adding SIM card functionalities or supporting additional CAN bus protocols, are achieved through MCU upgrades.

In essence, this trio of upgrades collectively ensures that car navigation systems stay current, efficient, and adaptable to evolving technological demands.

  • @Issam Al Ghourani

    Hello,

For the Android 10 PX6 unit, we don't advise to update the firmware and MCU.

According to the picture you provided, the head unit  seems to be running normally. Could you please provide a video to show the detailed problem?

Thank you for your time and cooperation.
