Understanding TPMS options

  • Hello,

I have a G13 unit and have included a pictures so you know the version.

I have found 3 apps that include TPMS:

I want to have TPMS sensors on all 5 tires (including the spare). Only one of these apps shows the spare:

There are 3 apps in the G13 unit. Do any of them work with the OEM TPMS sensors?

If not, can I get external Dasaita TPMS sensors that do all 5 tires? Or can I get internal Dasaita TPMS sensors that do all 5 tires?

One app shows all 5 tires but the other 2 apps only show 4 tires. Do all the apps support 5 tires or only the one showing?

  • Thank you Dani for jumping in. I hope someone will provide an answer.

  • @Steve Toeniskoetter

    Hi Steve,

Do you purchase our brand Dasaita external tire pressure?

  • Hello. No, I did not buy the external tire pressure sensors. I would like to but I don't see them for sale any longer.

  • Hello. I just noticed that the TPMS sensor page has a selector to click to get the external sensors.

I watched the video, and just now ordered the external sensors.

  • @Steve Toeniskoetter yes, this USB TPMS is suitable for your G13 unit.

  • Hi Steve,

I was wondering the same - are the TPMS readings just supposed to show up or does one have to buy a sender/transmitter ?

From the dialog it seems you have to buy the 4 valve stem sensors and get them installed at a tire shop since it requires removal of the tire from the rim and rebalancing. The receiver then plus into the system for a live display of the tire pressure.

I was looking for a way to tap into the OEM sensor signals - given the silence on this topic it does not look like it is possible ?

  • Hi Har,

I bought the TPMS sensors from this link:

    https://www.dasaita.com/products/dasaita-tpms-app-good-quality-universal-car-tire-pressure-monitoring-sensor-external-system-real-time-for-car-stereo-player

When you're in there you'll see an option to choose either internal or external sensors:

You described the internal ones, where the tire shop needs to install them, but I bought the external ones.

First I plugged the receiver into the USB port of the G13 unit. Then I started putting the monitors on each tire, and within seconds the app was displaying the pressure for each tire.

You need to use the middle app from this screenshot:

It's working great. I'm not 100% convinced about the external monitors longevity but I want to do 5 tire rotation and I would have had to remove tires to get the internal sensor off the spare, and that is too much expense.

Let me know if you have other questions.

  • Har,

I should have included photos of the app.

I put it on my home screen in the lower middle:

And here's what it looks like when I open it up:

I tested it by deflating one of the tires, and it gives an alert you're not going to miss. Also you don't need to have the TPMS screen up - it will alert you no matter what screen you're on.

  • Thank for  sharing your shopping expereience so much. The external TPMS supports to replace battery: CR1632 lithium battery@Steve Toeniskoetter
