PX6 Stuck on Android Logo after update - will not go into recovery mode.

  • I have a PX6(1024x600) that is stuck on the Android logo animation screen after I accidently updated from Android 10 to 11. It will not go into update mode regardless of what I try. I've tried all versions of suggestions from all the threads including:

    • Updating from USB formatted to FAT32
    • Updating from a 128 SD card formatted to FAT32
    • Updating from a 64 SD card formatted to FAT32
    • Pulling the car's negative battery post, holding down the reset pin.
    • Pulling the units power, waiting, plugging it back in and using the reset pin.
    • Pulling the units fuse, waiting 1 minute, using the reset pin.
    • Holding down the reset pin until the controls flash blue
    • Holding down the reset pin until the controls flash blue, letting off the reset pin and holding it down again.
    • Every possible combination of the above with 20 second waits, 30 seconds waits, 2 minute waits... nothing will get this to boot into recovery mode or start the USB/SD card update.

    Before Update:

    • Build number rk3399-userdebug 10 QQ2A.200305.004.A1
    • Kernel version 4.19.111+
    • MCU version MTCE_HA_V3.45_1

After Update:  flashes the Android 11 boot screen and then goes into endless Android logo animation.

Is there a software tool that can flash this from a UART header, USB or other? If so where do I get my hands on  this?

  • @Alex Hunt

    Hi Alex,the Android 10 can't update to Android 11.

Please update the Firmware to the latest version via the link below, here are some tips to help you get it done:

Max 10 Version Make Sure your unit is PX6 Andorid 10

    ha3_rk3399_10.0(20230803)

    https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/sy068zz4tgokutkfhuwkt/update.zip?rlkey=uuhukuun3882rz4cyqxsgs9k6&dl=0

1.Please download the file though the link via your computer/laptop.

(Do not rename and Unzip the file)

2.Format the USB drive before copying the Update.zip  file to it, then insert it to the USB cable, and it will pop out the firmware updating tips on the screen.

(Tick the option"Wipe data and format flash")

    3.Find a pin, press and hold the RST button for 10 seconds to see if you can enter the factory setup page, if you can, select system updated ;

If any question with the system updating, please feel free to get back to us!

  • Hi @Support Dasaita ,

Thank you for the suggestions but I have already tried to load that exact file by all of the methods I mentioned above. It will not initiate a FW update regardless of what I do, whether that is from a FAT32 USB or from the internal FAT32 SD card.

It does not matter how long I press and hold the reset pin, it will flash the power/home/volume controls blue and then boot into the android animation logo. I can provide a video of this if you like.

Is there another method I can use? The PX6 is an STM32 is it not? Can I use a JTAG programmer (or similar) to flash this unit directly from my laptop?

Any help you can give would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Alex

  • @Alex Hunt

Could you please try to unplug the power cable then connected it back before updating?

    Find a pin, press and hold the RST button for 10-15 seconds to see if you can enter the factory setup page, if you can, select system updated ;

*Please notice that the fireware format is correct,no need to Unzip the file, just download it directly to the USB drive. Then insert it to the unit's USB cable.

  • Hi @Support Dasaita ,

I've tried all combinations of pulling the power, fuses, and pressing the reset button. I tried this again this morning +20x times and it will NOT go into update mode.

If you don't have any other method of forcing this into update mode can you please provide me with an IMAGE file so I can use an external flasher to reprogram this unit? I need an Android 10 (HA version) Image file that matches my MCU: MTCE_HA_V3.45_1

    Cheers,

    Alex

  • I am experiencing the same issue. reset button doesnt do anything. Need a method where one can flash the system because it doesnt even see the usb it just boots straight to the android 11 then is stuck on the android screen

  • @Alex Hunt  Hello, sorry we don't have an IMAGE file to provide. It seems the system upgrade from Android 10 to Android 11 is broken.

  • @Nelson Chek Hello,

Have you tried to udpate the system ?Please also try to remove and replug the all cables.

    Thank you for your time.
